just as some corporations show their greed by not paying enough, some unions demand way too much!! There is a "middle of the road" out there somewhere. All I can tell you is that back in the late 60s and 70s, I was living "high off the hog" doing medical transcription. The disparity between then and now is really ridiculous. We all understand that things do change; but when the change is based only on the greed of the MTSOs, at the benefit of US based MTs, then there certainly is room for change. I am sure that a unionized MT group would not "cut off their noses to spite their face"...but only to try to bring back somewhat of a semblance of proper pay for the profession. I absolutely know what you are saying about some of these unions. Goodness, gracious, if only we were there.......To me it only serves as a reminder that we should expect to be paid fairly for our knowledge and expertise; no reason to go overboard and jeopardize our "hopeful" position.
