I checked into this about 4 years ago or so; even called some local unions in my state; was NOT happy about the type of union we might be able to go into. However, I would think with over 150,000 MTs, (maybe more), nationwide and with the Dept of Labor having given us our own "title", maybe we should be able to START our own union!! Why not? I would think all it takes is some organization, understanding and cooperation from all involved. AND just think what we might be able to do about the off-shoring. I think here the pros outweight the cons!!! I'll get back with you on this; just have to do some research!
