Have you actually worked in a healthcare setting where teamwork is essential? You are not a mere typist. You should be able to look at the clinical scenario and asses the whole thing and use your wise judgment.

One dictation I heard had a male name and the word male in the S. Subsequent sentences used "her" and I felt I could correct the doctor's grammar without harrassing him (must be an ESL). But when there are major discrepancies, instead of submitting the doc as final to the dictator, I specifically point to him his deficiency and ask that he correct it before the final printing. For me, that is part of my job as an efficient and reliable MT.

WE should remember that being MTs, we are part of the medico-legal implications in the documents we are producing for our clients.
