grandmother. She didn't have a stroke when she died. However, my mother who never had a migraine or many headaches at all did have a stroke and died a few years later in a nursing home probably of another one after a really bad bout with pneumonia. Scares me though. I know these are not normal and I think ER staff need to know that if people could get relief from them they would not be in the ER. Headaches are a sign of a lot of things. I used to get auras and now I do not. Migraines can be exacerbated by the flu, by sinus problems, etc. I even have them more often when the barometric pressure fluctuates or if it is suddenly rainy, etc. I can't take Imitrex not only because it is so expensive, but it cause my heart problems to be worse. Keep us posted about this. I am interested in this. Supposedly I have been told that the older you get, the less likely you will be to have them. I don't think this is true as I have done reports on people in the 70s and 80s who still have them.
