Even when I worked in-house for years and years, I would wear shoes that I could kick off on the right foot to use the foot pedal. The days that were "dress down" days and you could wear tennis shoes, I would have a bad time with the foot pedal. Since I have been at home working, I used to do the same thing -no shoes. However, since I go barefoot all day when I am at home, I started having terrible right heel pain - just excruciating - to the point I could barely walk. It went on for months and months, even after I started wearing a shoe while I used the foot pedal. Eventually it got better, but now I have a pair of old slip-on open-toe slippers that I wear and that way my heel does not get the pressure from being barefoot while using the foot pedal. Works for me.
