I have a daughter who is a nursing student (second year). She has started her clinicals in a small hospital. She called me today to tell me that now she knows why some days I want to through the transcriber out the window. She said she heard this doctor dictate a case over a telephone at the front desk and he would talk real fast and then stop sigh and then say go back about six words and put a period there. Then he would start another sentence and sigh some more and then say I lost my place and after redictate this whole case. She asked me if I go through that with dictators. I said yes every day. She said I thought your job was easy. I can now see why you get stressed.
I guess maybe it was good for her to here the other end of the phone. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND
