I can't possibly be the only one in this situation. I've been job-hopping since early 2003 when I jumped off the MQ ship. I am now on my 4th company. Thought this was "the one." Last paycheck was short $250. Still waiting on that back-pay and due another paycheck here in 2 days and I'm really anxious about this. I don't like sitting here wondering whether I will get paid.

I come on this board to try and research the companies so I don't get into a bad situation. It seems most of the big national companies don't have very admirable reputations, from an MT standpoint.

Anyone else in this situation? So what do we do? I've got 20+ years experience, so I have no problem getting hired, but I am so tired of the time-wasting process of testing, phone interview, training, learning a new account.... only to find out that the job is not what you want for one reason or another. You can't find out what the pay rate is before you take the test to save yourself the time of applying for a job that underpays. It just really seems the companies have a HUGE upper hand here!

From what I see posted, MTs are in huge demand. So why can't we pick and choose what we want... pay... PTO... benies... etc? This just makes me sick and I am getting so discouraged.

So, tomorrow morning, I'm off to search the job postings yet again, will probably apply for four or five jobs, and will go into it all blindly again, until they decide to call me, tell me what they will give me, let me choose the all-attractive Sun-Thurs vs. Tues-Sat schedule, and offer me a mediocre line rate.

Anyone have any suggestions, comments, thoughts, ideas?

P.S. I would love to work for a hospital at home. Does anyone have any contact information for a hospital(s) who hire at-home MTs?

Thanks for listening.
