in a social situation, who promised me he could hypnotize me and cure my fear of dental procedures. I did NOT believe I could be hypnotized, but he did it, worked on my teeth and I really have no memory of it. I do, however, remember walking out of his office with the sense that NOTHING could hurt me, that if I was hit by the car coming down the street, it couldn't hurt me. LOL. That feeling (kind of like novocaine) wore off in a couple hours. I never tried it again, though, because I was afraid that somewhere deep inside I might be afraid to let him "put me under" again and not caring for the feeling that I was invincible! Unfortunately, before I even had a chance to make a final decision, this particular dentist was killed in a boating accident, and I've never met one since who performed hypnosis. Now that I'm much older and have put on a lot of weight, I've been thinking about maybe trying it again. Good luck!!! Hope it works for you.
