saw this post about getting rid of credit cards not used in months or years, and it just so happens that i wrote to three credit card companies last week to cancel them. do they really cancel them, and how will i know? In these letters, I asked them to confirm that they were cancelled, but do they really? And how can I be sure they are kaput? By the way, it feels good to be able to get rid of them. ;) TIA.
