Since there appears to be some speculation that MQ is considering doing away with SEs and almost simultaneously asking SEs to either work schedules or submit loose schedules, I'm thinking that they NEED MTs to work... period. I think that maybe some SEs (and I'm sure we've all been guilty of this) might not work as much or maybe at all on any given day because we can hide behind the, "I'm an SE and they can't tell me what to do" mantra. Unfortunately this can pose a problem on management/pleasing the client side. Hence, they are trying to get us to get our stuff together so things run smoother for them. I see this as kind of a warning... like don't take advantage of a good thing. We all have things to do and know when we can work. I think it might be to our advantage, as SEs, if we want the status and all it's perks to remain, to try to appease them as best as possible. Let's face it, not many jobs enable their workers to be as flexible as we are. Working independently and at home is not easy as far as discipline is concerned, but at any other job we would have to work a schedule or work... period.
