The hospital I work for refused to up my rates. There is a contract, but the boss changed my contract and I was 'forced' to go along with her or else lose the work. At the time, I had no other source of income, did negotiate some things, but really wasn't happy about it. I've been working for them for 10 years now. I feel I am there long enough to get a higher rate and was planning to up my rates this year whether they liked it or not. I'm supposedly #1 in their eyes...now I see it's probably because I'm the cheapest. They did get rid of two other services and kept me, so I was happy. I do the very best I can for them, never say no to holidays, work 7 days a week. I deserve better. In those 10 years, only got one compliment. Hope the manager is sitting down this year!
