On Call MTs

I was reading a string from a post by an MTSO on 1/5, in which she was expressing her frustration with MTs who agree to take a specific amount of work and, when the work is assigned, deciding for whatever reason that they cannot do the assignment after all, leaving both the service owner and ultimately the client in the lurch.

Following that post there were several notes suggesting creating a group of MTs who would be "on call" in an emergency situation as that described by the MTSO.

We've tried that and have ended up with a mutitude of "part time" ics who can "only" take 15 or 20 minutes of dictation and get rather upset if that volume isn't available for them when they want it, even though the work fluctuates greatly at times from the main client.

If you have a group of serious MTs who would like to work on an on-call basis with one person willing to coordinate the group and do the editing, I would be more than interested to talk with you!
