I would say "come to sunny Florida"...but not a good idea. I live on North Hutchinson Island, just a little small barrier island off the coast of Florida. The worst part of a hurricane is the eye wall. Of course, the eye wall of both Hurricane Frances and Hurricane Jeanne hit right here, right on top of my house. I fled the island to go inland (as we had a massive storm surge); went to my brother's house 70 miles inland, of course Jeanne followed me. He lost his roof and all his ceilings except for the living room. My son, my brother and I all huddled in the one room left of his house at 5:00 A.M. wondering where do we go now?!?!? Of course he had his great dane, me my chihuahua, cat and bird. If was rather scary. FEMA is now giving me a trailer as there are no vacancies of any kind to be found and the contractors are getting ready to come in and tear down all my walls and ceilings. It looked like a war zone here, actually still does. Many, Many homes still only have blue tarps for roofs and plywood up against their windows and walls. However, if you find it too cold; Florida can be nice; come for a visit.
