You are EXPECTED to take holiday shifts. If you do not volunteer for holiday shifts, you will have to work your normally scheduled times whether it is a holiday or not (which could end up being more days). If you bail and do not work, you will be screwing other MTs and will possibly be let go. (i know that people WERE let go within the last two weeks...pretty wicked Christmas gift if you ask me) They did not leave much if any room for negotiation.
