The release states: “MedQuist did not pay Plaintiffs and the Class on the same line counting basis that MedQuist billed customers. In fact, for a transcribed report, MedQuist paid employees for one line count and billed its customers for a higher line count." I think "not paying on the same line counting basis" is very different than "charge a hospital or client MORE than you pay your employees". To me, the difference is fraudulence versus probably the standard. A person may understand better by reading the actual lawsuit at http://www.deflaw.com/medquist.cfm Many MTs worked for MedQuist and felt there were problems in this area, but they could not prove them. This is not a frivilous lawsuit filed to make money for the attorneys or hospitals; it is serious. I have learned that there is hard-core evidence in the possession of the attorneys. I have been told the suit won't be settled in the very near future, but the proof will be shown by the end.
