Texaco reps call me thanking me for my business and try to sell me roadside service--at least I think that is what they were trying to sell me as it was very hard to understand. I questioned both where they were calling from and they refused to answer. The next morning I called the 800 number on my cards, found out they do use offshore telemarketing for phone solicitations. They claim they are not provided with any "personal" info but how impersonal are your name, phone number, acct number, and home address? I cancelled each card, made the supervisor I spoke with aware of why I was cancelling, and wrote to the head office of each company detailing why I was cancelling the cards and would not use their gas stations again. Its scary what info is available to these offshore companies.
