This is a cost-cutting measure. I do not believe it is close to 9-10 cpl, it is much lower. I believe also there are subsidies involved. No overhead for offshore MTs (the same reason hospitals outsource), i.e. hospitalization, PTO, etc. I work for one of the big ones and at one time there was PTO, shift differential, holiday differential, and you could actually get a raise maybe every 4-5 years. How all of these have been taken away. I have had two line rate cuts in the past 3 year. This is not because of quality issues. My quality has always been 99% and higher. This is because "I make too much money." I was willing to work 3rd shift and weekends and holidays and still do all of those things, without any additional remuneration.
