I have found that those soft, foam-like gardening pads that you kneel on are wonderful - the skinny ones, not the bigger, square ones. I place one in front of my foot pedal. I have my foot pedal also on a small piece of wood just a little larger than the pedal to rise it just a little for a more comfortable level for me. I also use that nonslip, shelf liner under the pedal so it does not move around. (It is good for under keyboards as well.) My foot/ankle does not have to bend as much and I have no problem with sore feet/ankles any longer. I have been using these for several years now. A very cheap remedy and what a relief! :D I have also used one of these under my mouse to lift is up to a better height, depending on the type of mouse I use. I turn it the "skinny way". (Obviously, your keyboard tray has to be large enough to accommodate this.) It overhangs on the back side of my tray but you could cut it to size if you wanted.
I hope this may help someone else.
Sandi
