Olympus Wave Pedal RS23 Foot Switch

This is USB (Plug and play) but my computer insists it needs a driver to work. Olympus never made a driver for this one--shouldnt be needed as plug and play, they say.

I have tried everyhing I can, and the thing doesn't WORK! Help? ExpressScribe suggested installing it by using custom "game or sound controller" specs -- but it wouldnt recognize it as there. Im not sure which port Im using-- how do I know that info? I have a ton of USB ports on my Dell Dimension.
