The C-phone plugs into your telephone line so either your line is busy while you are working or your call-waiting will click. I do NOT recommend call waiting because when it clicks it is very loud and annoying. It can also disconnect the job you are on. Your local phone company can tell you how much it costs to get another phone line. My suggestion would be to get a "cheap" phone line, use your 1st line for calling out and have the phone company roll the numbers over so that when you are working on your 1st line and someone calls, it will ring on your second line. When you are not working you can use your 1st line to call out on, thus saving a little bit of money on the 2nd line.
