Well, because of the high importance of medical reports, even if the machine "learns" the dictation and there are less errors, they still need to be listened to and reviewed...it is the "cutting edge" of transcription and more and more companies, clinics, etc. will be going to it. It's a great thing to get involved with and is great experience.

Because it is so different in each report, usually editors are not paid by production, but hourly. Because some reports will need more editing than others...they can't really pay by the line. I have seen a few posts and it seems that the going rate for beginning is around 15...mine is less, but oh well!! I'm glad to be involved in it and I'm glad to get the experience and to be on the cutting edge of technology.
