dictaphone c-phone

I recently purchased a Dictaphone C-phone to try and get a job that was requiring a C-phone. I had no knowledge whatsoever of a C-phone so just bought one, thinking a C-phone is a C-phone is a C-phone.......Well, come to find out, the only dictation this machine will recognize is dictation dictated ON Dictaphone equipment (since my C-phone is a Dictaphone). The company I'm trying to work for apparently does not have their dictation dictated on Dictaphone equipment, but they can set up their system to emulate a Dictaphone so that my Dictaphone C-phone will be able to 'hear' it and then play the dictation. (I had to call a company who sells these machines refurbished to get this info from them.) I am just curious if anyone else has ever run into this sort of problem with a C-phone....???? I was only trying to be ahead of the game by purchasing one since SO many jobs require a C-phone, but now apparently one must know if the dictation is being dictated on Dictaphone equipment if one owns a Dictaphone C-phone......I'm SO frustrated!!!
