i also counted by line. you can tell Word how many characters per line. As many times as I tried it, it matched MedQuist's count. I was suspicious when I first started because it was taking so long to get my count up, but at my old company, we were paid for everything that, at MQ, goes into the ADT. i get paid more per line at MQ so it works out. plus with MQ i always get paid on time and nothing bounces.
