Why don't you spend the time to learn from what I said and get better at what you do instead of complaining because I was blunt. I apologize that I offended you, but the fact of the matter is if you were offended, then it was true. At least with my comment, I was not having a conniption fit over it, just stated facts. It may have sounded rude, but all in all, it was fact. Do you need people to add sugar to anything they say to you at all times? If this is the case, you have been a quite sheltered and spoiled person. Welcome to reality. Enjoy, because there are people out there much meaner and ruder than I was. If you were in a company and the boss called you in the office and said, "Look, your not doing your job up to my expectations and the expectations of our clients. You are under educated for this position and I am going to have to let you go." It would be the exact same criticism. Would you have him sugar coat it for you? "Hi sweetie, I know you have a rough, rough life so I am just going to pay your way through another semester of school so that I can make my clients happy." NO that would NOT happen. Just because you are privileged enough to work at home, does not mean you are excluded from getting and taking criticism. It is a part of life you need to learn to deal with. You sound to be pretty young by your comments, so you have time to grow and learn. Don't grow up being a stubborn old fool who cannot accept and understand the truth when it is laid out in front of you. Learn to take criticism with stride and make yourself a better person. With this job you have editors. They are your tool to accepting this. They are a tool to higher education if you listen to what they say and not be combative towards them. I hear SO many of the MTs on this board, and others, complain that their editor was SO unfair to them. Well that comes from people not being able to structure accept what they say and use it FOR themselves and not AGAINST the editor. Now, I KNOW there ARE editors who are just grumpy and nitpick, but for the most part, they are HIGHER educated than the average MT and KNOW what they are doing. LISTEN TO THEM...they will help. No I am NOT an editor, but I can tell you my life is pretty easy in the work field because I work with them to understand any problems that arise and I ASK questions. I ask…Why did you change that? What can I do to improve those areas? Do you know of a good reference book or even a text book that will help me to better understand this area? Again, I am sorry that I offended you and hope that you can make some sense of this and help yourself.
